On September 29, our school community came together to celebrate the annual Feast Day of St. Michael the Archangel. This special day provided students and staff with many opportunities to reflect on our faith, grow closer to God, and strengthen our relationships with one another. Every part of the day was filled with school spirit, meaningful experiences, and memorable moments.

The celebration began with a school-wide livestream of our liturgy, which was presented in the chapel by our chaplain, Mr. Minardi, alongside a small group of Wings of Faith students. During this time, we gathered in prayer and reflection, considering how we can better demonstrate our love for God in our daily lives. Following the liturgy, the entire student body assembled on the back field for a group photo. Students formed a large circle and showed off their best smiles and poses, creating a lasting memory of St. Michael’s Feast Day 2026.

Afterward, students participated in the Terry Fox Walk to raise awareness and support for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation. As we walked through the neighbourhood surrounding our school, we encouraged one another and demonstrated the importance of perseverance and community. Stations were set up along the route to motivate participants and keep spirits high throughout the walk.

When lunchtime arrived, the cafeteria quickly filled with students enjoying a delicious barbecue-style meal provided by the school. Friends gathered around welcoming tables to share food, laughter, and conversation. To make the celebration even sweeter, cake was served for dessert, and students were treated to refreshing ice cream from the ice cream truck.

Many groups, teams, and clubs, including Student Council, Wings of Faith, and the Cheer Team, played an important role in making this day a success. Throughout the afternoon, students enjoyed a variety of carnival games where they could compete against their peers and win prizes. Students also gathered on the bleachers to cheer on participants in the highly anticipated St. Mike’s Cup Soccer Tournament. Athletes competed with determination and sportsmanship for the chance to win a special championship trophy presented at the conclusion of the final match. During the tournament, the Cheer Team delivered an outstanding performance that energized the crowd and showcased their incredible talent.

Overall, this year’s Feast Day was truly one to remember. It brought joy, excitement, and a strong sense of community to all who participated. The event reminded us that the hard work and dedication invested in creating such a meaningful day never go unnoticed. We hope that everyone had an amazing experience and created memories that will last a lifetime as we celebrated this important and faith-filled tradition together.
