Meet Ms. Sicoli

This month, Stella, Abi, and Venezia sat down with Ms. Sicoli. They asked her 73 questions. Here are her responses:


Stella, Abi, and Venezia: How are you today?


Ms. Sicoli: Can I eat my Tuna salad? I’m having a great day.


SAV: What classes are you teaching this semester?


MS: Grade 10 civics, grade 10 history, and grade 12 history.


SAV: What did you have for breakfast?


MS: I had … high protein yogurt with papaya because it is good for digestion and high in protein.


SAV: What’s your favourite time of day?


MS: Right now (Lunch time) (11:08)


SAV: What’s your biggest weakness?


MS: Personally or professionally? Chocolate. Getting de-railed and distracted but if it's something meaningful or a teachable moment it's a good distraction. Today my entire political spectrum lesson derailed as I started talking about hot topics. 


SAV: What's your biggest strength?


MS: (Silence) I have so many. I’m real and authentic. What you see is what you get. 


SAV: If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?


MS: Right here. I love being in school.


SAV: Window or Isle seat?


MS: On the plane? I used to love the window. Now with my husband and kids, the aisle. 


SAV: What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?


MS: Parenting. How challenging it can be.


SAV: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?


MS: Today. Everyone said they liked my outfit and my hair. Real answer: I love when students tell me they enjoyed a lesson or like the class I teach. 


SAV: Sweet or Savoury?


MS: Both. 


SAV: What’s your favourite holiday?


MS: If I'm hosting with my family, I like Thanksgiving because it's the easiest to prepare for. Otherwise Canada Day. My family gets together and we have a barbecue. 


SAV: What’s your favourite song at the moment?


MS: "Streets of Minneapolis" - Bruce Springsteen


SAV: What are three things you can’t live without?


MS: 1.The thought of never going on a holiday. I love seeing the world and planning a trip. 2. Health 3. Family 


SAV: What’s your favourite movie or TV show?


MS: F.R.I.E.N.D.S or Beverly Hills 90201.


SAV: What’s your pet peeve?


MS: Injustice. Unfairness drives me crazy. I can't keep my mouth shut even if I try.


SAV: What’s your favourite board game?


MS: Family Feud. Code names. 


SAV: What three words best describe you?


MS: Outgoing. Loyal. Passionate. 


SAV: What was the last book you’ve read?


MS: One Golden Summer - Carly Fortune. 


SAV: If you weren’t a teacher what would you want to be doing?


MS: Something in sales. I think I can make a lot of money. Or Politics. 


SAV: Where was the best vacation you’ve ever taken?


MS: Impossible. I've been to over 50 countries. It's hard to pick. Up there: Iceland and Egypt. 


SAV: Favourite food? 


MS: I eat everything. I like Mediterranean, Italian, and Greek.


SAV: Favourite drink?


MS: Water. It keeps my skin hydrated.


SAV: Favourite dessert?


MS: Tiramisu.


SAV: What’s your favourite sport to play?


MS: None. I suck.


SAV: What’s your favourite sport to watch?


MS: Depends on the season. 


SAV: Do you coach/lead a school club or team?


MS: Yes. 


SAV: If so, which ones? If not, what would you want to coach or lead?


MS: Student council, march break trips. In the past volleyball, basketball teams. 


SAV: What's your favourite colour?


MS: Blue and grey.

 

SAV: What is your favourite band/artist?


MS: U2, Guns And Roses, Pearl Jam, Madonna, Pink.


SAV: Do you like surprises?


MS: Sometimes.


SAV: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?


MS: I can't tell you. 


SAV: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?


MS: Paragliding in Rio, Brazil. I landed on Ipanema Beach. 

     

SAV: What’s your favourite subject to teach?


MS: History. And politics


SAV: What’s your favourite Christmas movie?


MS: Elf.


SAV: What’s your favourite Halloween movie?


MS: I hate scary movies.


SAV: What’s your guilty pleasure?


MS: Movie popcorn.


SAV: If you could give your younger self advice what would it be?


MS: I would keep everything the same but I would say be true to yourself.


SAV: What’s your favourite kind of pizza?


MS: Margarita. You can really taste the sauce.


SAV: Can you play an instrument? 


MS: No.


SAV: What's something you would like to learn more about or how to do?


MS: To be better with technology.


SAV: What’s your favourite animal?


MS: Dogs.


SAV: If you had an autobiography what would the title be?


MS: I Did It My Way


SAV: Dogs or Cats?


MS: Dogs.


SAV: If you had one super power what would it be?


MS: None, I'm good.


SAV: If you could live in an era which one would it be?


MS: The 90s. 


SAV: What’s one thing on your bucket list?


MS: To see more countries.


SAV: What's your favourite fast food restaurant?


MS: Freshii.


SAV: Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?


MS: Queen.


SAV: What's your favourite quote?


MS: "Don't sweat the small things."


SAV: What’s your most prized possession?


MS: Passport.


SAV: What’s your favourite emoji?


MS: I don’t do emojis.


SAV: What was your first job?


MS: Grocery cashier. And a tour guide.


SAV: What’s your zodiac sign?


MS: Leo.


SAV: What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?


MS: Keeping busy. Being with family and friends.


SAV: What’s your favourite season?


MS: I like them all. 


SAV: What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?


MS: I've been to hundreds. Probably Madonna.


SAV: What’s your favourite candy/chocolate?


MS: I can't choose any chocolate. 


SAV: What’s the best thing about your job?


MS: That everyday is different.


SAV: What’s something you collect?


MS: Collect student cell phones. 


SAV: What’s your dream car?


MS: Porsche Macan. 


SAV: What’s something you learned recently?


MS: Tinted moisturizer. 


SAV: What’s your favourite ice cream flavour?


MS: Lemon and mango.


SAV: If you had a personal mascot what would it be?


MS: Lion.


SAV: What’s the most random fact you know?


MS: Anything to do with politics. 


SAV: What’s the funniest thing a student has ever said to you?


MS: Gotta think about it. 


SAV: What’s the best thing about teaching high school?


MS: Periods are only 75 mins. Just joking. The fact that every day is new and exciting. 


SAV: What’s your go to snack/drink when marking tests or assignments?


MS: Chocolate.


SAV: What’s your favourite app on your phone?


MS: Whatsapp.


SAV: What’s your biggest fear?


MS: Dying young. 


SAV: What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?


MS: My diamond tennis bracelet from my husband.


SAV: Coffee or tea?


MS: Coffee.


SAV: Night Owl or Early Bird?


MS: I could be both.
