The St. Mikes varsity Girls’ Flag Football team is coming to the end of a standout season, full of energy, dedication, and teamwork. Under the direction of Coaches DeFaria and Marra, the team has quickly become one of the most exciting and determined groups representing our school this fall.
Led by captains Brooklyn Lupinacci and Emily Amodeo, the players have built an impressive record, winning their first six games in a row before facing their first loss just yesterday. Even that setback showed their resilience and determination to keep improving and learning from every experience. Their strong start has set a new standard for effort and teamwork within the program.
From the very beginning of the season, the team has demonstrated a deep commitment to one another. Games are filled with focus, laughter, and encouragement, as players push themselves to master new skills and techniques. Despite not playing in front of large crowds, the girls bring their own energy to every game, cheering each other on and celebrating every great play, big or small.
Each player has contributed to the team’s success, from making quick passes and solid defensive stops to executing smart offensive strategies. Their chemistry is clear; the way they communicate, adapt, and support one another shows a level of teamwork that makes every game exciting to watch. The players’ determination, along with their respect for the game and one another, continues to make the school proud.
With the playoffs beginning next week, the team is eager to keep their momentum going and carry their strong season into the postseason. Win or lose, this group has already proven what dedication, sportsmanship, and teamwork can achieve.
Congratulations to the entire Girls’ Flag Football team — your hard work, positivity, and team spirit make St.Mikes proud every single game. Keep pushing forward, Thunder. The season’s not over yet, and the best may still be ahead.
